The Ultra 70 cameras are revamped 15-Perf 65mm film cameras. These are one of the world’s only independent production-ready 1570 cameras.

15/70 is the highest motion picture capture format in existence with an unparalleled 18K of resolution. Capable of stunning ultra-high resolution with the rich color of analog film. One frame of 15/70 is almost 10 times the size of standard 35mm film, more than 4 times the size of VistaVision and 3 times the size of 5-Perf 65mm.

The Ultra70 cameras feature brand new digital electronics, a fiberglass sound blimp and an underwater housing made by the legendary Pete Romano.

Three camera bodies and 12 magazines are available.

12 IMAX-mounted Hasselblad Zeiss lenses are available, ranging from an ultra-wide 30mm to a telephoto 500mm, and a 300-1200mm telephoto zoom.

The Wilcam W-4 is a durable and robust 15-Perf 65mm film camera. This particular camera was designed by Geoff Williamson and sold to legendary IMAX filmmaker George Casey. It’s been in use for over 30 years on a long list of IMAX films.

Capable of stunning 15/70 images at speeds up to 40 fps in all weather, altitude and humidity conditions. Moreover, one of the quietest 15/70 cameras in existence, without the use of a blimp.

This camera shot the Eruption of Mount St. Helens. It has filmed the Stratovolcanoes of South America, the Lions oif the Serengeti, the Great Barrier Reef of Australia, Grizzly Bears of Northern Alaska. In later years, it was owned by George’s son, Sean, to film extreme weather in the 15/70 format. It has been used to film inside of a Twister Tornado. Both Sean, and this particular camera, was frequently featured on the iconic Discovery show “Storm Chasers”.
